About the OCSC

The Office of Charter School Compliance provides support, guidance, and resources for Georgia charter schools. Functions of the Office of Charter School Compliance (OCSC) include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing local charter school petitions and guidelines for State Board of Education approval;
  • Reviewing charter school petitions in coordination with the Charter Advisory Committee;
  • Administering charter school implementation grants awarded to the state;
  • Coordinating the evaluation of locally-approved charter schools;
  • Producing the charter school annual report required by O.C.G.A. § 20-2-2070; and
  • Supporting local charter school authorizers to implement best practices to promote charter school authorization at the local level.
