About the OCSC

The Office of Charter School Compliance (OCSC) provides support, guidance, and resources for Georgia charter schools. Functions of the OCSC include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing local charter school petitions and guidelines for State Board of Education approval;
  • Reviewing charter school petitions in coordination with the Charter Advisory Committee;
  • Administering charter school implementation grants awarded to the state;
  • Coordinating the evaluation of locally-approved charter schools;
  • Producing the charter school annual report required by O.C.G.A. § 20-2-2070; and
  • Supporting local charter school authorizers to implement best practices to promote charter school authorization at the local level.
